New Release of Congress report on the symposium "Arnold Schönberg's Brilliant Moves - twelve-tone and game design." - At the beginning of the 1920s fell Arnold Schoenberg with the invention of a coalition not only the rules of chess chess order, but with the development of a method of composing with twelve notes related to the then current rules of Western music. The Sixth International Symposium at the Arnold Schönberg Center was dedicated in 2004 Arnold Schoenberg's twelve-tone, genesis, theory and practice of his twelve-tone, the twelve-tone reception, and the constructive positions in artistic creativity and playful construction plans. In the present volume (320 pages, numerous illustrations and musical examples) reviews are gathered from 17 authors in German and English. The book is published in cooperation with the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna as No. 7 the scientific journal series of the Arnold Schoenberg Center.
